wool in a pot

2020

Wool in a Pot is an experimental project that explores wool felting techniques in a home environment.

The project began with an observation of wool getting tangled in an interesting organic shape due to excessive movement while being dyed in a warm color bath. After a series of experiments investigating the incident, the pot felting method was developed.

Elements drawn from the wet felting technique and wool dyeing process, such as water, temperature fluctuations, soap, and agitation, are combined with ordinary kitchen utensils such as pots, stirring tools, and creative hand movements to create endless shapes of wool.
