Phop pharn

2016

Phop Pharn is the package of a Benjarong, a traditional Thai five-colored porcelain used in the ‘Gruad Naam’ ritual. This ritual involves pouring ceremonial water as a sign of dedication of merit to the departed, and is widely performed in various Buddhist and traditional Thai ceremonies.

The package’s design highlights its simplicity and purity with fine textures and neat crimps.

Phop Pharn consists of three parts. The two main parts are the base and the funnel, which are tied together with a detachable lock that can be removed for display. The third part is the internal core, which holds the porcelain in place and also serves as a shock absorber.
